Close to Billericay, Basildon and Brentwood in Essex is the Barleylands Farm Park and Craft Village where our hot air balloon flights often start from if the wind is coming from the south. Look south as your balloon rises and you will see Canvey Island and the Thames Estuary as you head further inland towards the Hanningfield Reservoir, Ingatestone, Margaretting or perhaps the market town of Chipping Ongar whose origins date back to Saxon times.

In summer it’s a great place to spot the combines harvesting the wheat and barley in the golden fields of crop around the launch site.
