You can see that the small Essex village of Stisted in the background of this aerial picture is only a fraction of the size of the golf course when viewed from a balloon basket. Although not always at this location Braintree Golf Club has been in existence since 1891 and is the third oldest course in the county of Essex. It moved from its nine hole course at Braintree to the current location in 1971 when the Braintree by pass was built. Golfers often wave to low flying balloons, particularly on morning flights when we are both up soon after dawn!
